No New Chapter - Characters Page Updates!

 Hey, friends,

I hope you're all doing well.  Today has been a good day, I think.  At least, so far!

As part of my National Novel Writing Month "General Productivity Efforrt," I've spent a great deal of time going through the Chronicles of Alleron characters pages and writing in details that haven't been updated in, oh, years.

I've organized characters into which organizations they're part of.  I know, that sentence was weird.  Here's the point:  Samuel, Victoria, and Monica are "Alleronian Expeditionary Force" because - for the most part - that's where we've seen them in the story, thusfar; Biran isn't included with the AEF, mainly because he was introduced as a Pirate of Privateer Point.  For another example, Prince Darius is in the "Bluefield Company" section, even though I'm working on an entry for the Royal Family.  When necessary I'll link between articles, or even copy over text and add references.

I realize a wiki page might be a better solution to this, and I'm not entirely bad at making wikis, but I don't know off-hand how to successfully integrate it with this site.  Sorry!  Maybe when CoA is a profitable venture?

Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

My warmest regards,

Chapter 47: The Dread-Bones And The Goblin Prince

Before we get started with the comic, I just want to point out that my latest short story, "Trust: A Short Tale Of Emor" is available on Amazon Kindle for just a dollar.  If you dig my fantasy set-ups, check it out!

I won't pretend I had some grand scheme going into this chapter.  I knew I wanted to emphasize the Dread-Bones' strength, and I know I wanted to show the chapter through the course of Darius and Gurubunder talking to each other.  I never imagined I'd go with the parallel story arc of the Goblin Prince and Habbo each being involved in the battle, but I think I'm enjoying how it's gone.

I also think I have some running room for what'll come next, but November is National Novel Writing Month and I plan to participate, so I'll be devoting most of my time to drafting new text!

Enjoy - And thanks, again, for reading!

No New Chapter - Project Update & New Short Story

Hey friends,

First a project update, then an offering!

I'm really, truly sorry I haven't been able to update the comic in a while.  I ran into some GIF issues with the final image of the last chapter, and between that and other technical nonsense (as well as re-starting the day job) I just haven't had the willpower to sit down and film out more comics, not even small ones.  I'm sure I will, but among other things I'm considering where to post new comics.  I've discovered that this Blogger page is not cooperating with Adsense, for example - so the idea of a "trickle revenue" for all of these comics is nil.  Between that and the GIF issues, I'm fairly decided on posting future comics to my personal website.  I have no idea how I'd migrate the old ones over, but...It's not like I didn't already do that once with this project, long ago.

Now for an offering; I'm putting out my first short story in a long time over on Amazon.com.  It's a fantasy romp set in the Kingdom of Emor (from my Pillars Of The Kingdom franchise), and it's hopefully gonna be about an hour-or-two of reading a fantastic little journey that's relatively straight-forward, but enjoyable due to its relative simplicity.

I hope you'll check it out, and I'm sorry I don't have more for you, here.  It's just been tough times all around, y'know?

Chapter 46 - The Tides Turn

Please Support The Comic On Patreon! | The Author, Jesse Pohlman's Website!

Greetings, friends, and happy Fantasy May!

I hope you've enjoyed Chapter 46 of Chronicles Of Alleron!  I really enjoyed making this chapter; I know I defaulted back to indoor basement shoots, but they're really the best I can do given that I can just leave (a rather sizable mess) the shooting-area clean, then pick up and shoot the next round of scenes whenever it's time.

Anyway, I'm really hoping that the next-to-last panel is animated the way it's supposed to be.  If it isn't, I'll honestly be so disappointed I might just switch this entire project off of Blogger entirely, since the whole plan was to anchor the episode around the animation of the fire breaking around Samuel's new shield.

With that said, I think the story beats to follow here are:
 - The Goblins started this war by kidnapping Prince Darius and accusing him of being a Balancer, but...
 - Samuel just began to manifest something truly abnormal.
 - Habbo and Goldhook, our protagonists, are active, engaged observers of something history-worthy happening.

For the final word, if you haven't already, please consider supporting me and this comic on Patreon!    Thank you!

Chapter 45 - Samuel's Struggle

Thank you for reading!

When going through confusing times, sometimes it helps to have a fun thing come out every once in a while to help spirit along the days.  With the way that plants have grown in my little garden area (where I set up the shoot for Chapter 44), there's little chance of me being able to set up another full-scale outdoor shoot again.

I'm pretty sure there's some Day-Lillies growing where the Goblin Castle goes, for starters.

That means that next chapter is going to involve indoor shoots; so the terrain will look much less awesome, but on the upside I won't be damaging nature, which is kind of important to me.  On the other hand, the ability to leave stuff out (assuming my cats don't mess with them...) means I can set up a scene and shoot it, produce the comic with visual effects (I have a long way to go), then go back and have the Legos still in the same place.  That tells me we can expect significantly improved continuity with chapters, as opposed to this one (can ya believe it's been 45?) where I had to use the excuse that the wounded were Gated out to justify not having a raging battle in the background.

Pretty soon, I'll have information about my next new prosaic release - stay tuned!

Well, that's about it for me.  We're holding up well with CoVID, and I hope you are, too!
